Warsaw Tourism Organization has coordinated a study visit of a delegation from Sofia – Deputy Mayor of Bulgaria’s capital came to Warsaw to consult and share knowledge on the matters of tourism in the capital of Poland.

Sofia is in the process of altering the range of activity and the role of the city in its local tourism sector. To ameliorate its condition and increase Sofia’s appeal to the international market, especially during the time of the post-pandemic crisis, the city government has decided to arrange a series of consultations to gain practical knowledge from cities that have successfully implemented solutions that secure both the development of tourism in spite of prevailing challenges and the revenue to the city budget.

In order to acquire the above information, the city government of Sofia has turned to Warsaw Tourism Organization which initiated a meeting in the City Hall. The conversation was had between Warsaw Deputy Mayor Michał Olszewski, Deputy Director of the City Marketing Bureau Radosław Kasyk, Warsaw Tourism Organization Vice-President of the Board Mateusz Czerwiński, and the representation of the Warsaw Tourist Office.

The matters discussed in the meeting included the branding of the city, the process of promoting the capital city as a favorable destination for large businesses, the means of attracting large conferences and industry events to the city, the budgeting of the city’s initiatives related to the development of tourism, and more.
