The Polish meetings industry is discussing the future
On 10 September, the headquarters of the Polish Tourism Organisation brought together those who work every day to show the world why Poland is a great place to host international events. The annual meeting of Poland Convention Bureau POT gathered representatives of city and regional convention bureaux from across the country, and we were pleased to be there too.
Representing Warsaw Convention Bureau, we joined colleagues from Silesia, Lublin, Mazovia, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Poznań, Łódź, Bydgoszcz, Kraków and Wrocław. What brought us together? A shared belief that the Polish meetings industry becomes stronger when cities and regions work together rather than in isolation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review Poland Convention Bureau’s activities in 2026 and jointly shape plans for 2027. Discussions focused on attracting more international events, making effective use of support programmes and the Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme, as well as new AI-powered tools that can help identify potential congresses and conferences before decisions are made about their destination.
An important part of the discussion was also the direction in which the meetings industry is evolving: accessibility, participant wellbeing and designing events around the diverse needs of their audiences. Gdańsk Convention Bureau shared its experience in this area, showing that a modern event is about more than the programme itself. It is also about taking care of the people who take part in it.
Thank you to Poland Convention Bureau POT for the invitation and for an inspiring discussion about how we can continue to strengthen Poland’s meetings industry together in the years ahead.
