23 New Polish Congress Ambassadors, Including Candidates Recommended by WOT
We not only attended this year’s Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala in Lublin. We also had a particular reason to follow the event closely. Among the 23 new Congress Ambassadors were several individuals whose candidacies were recommended by the Warsaw Tourism Organisation.
On 17 September, this year’s distinctions were presented at the Lublin Conference Centre to individuals whose academic and professional work, as well as their international networks, help bring congresses and conferences to Poland. The gala brought together representatives of academia, the meetings industry, local authorities and organisations involved in the development of the congress sector. We were pleased to be among them.
What was particularly important to us was that this year’s laureates included a number of people associated with Warsaw universities and institutions. Experts with international connections, professional networks and specialist knowledge often become the first link in the process of attracting events to a city. Their recommendation can be the starting point for a conversation about where the next congress should be held.
This year’s Polish Congress Ambassadors also include candidates nominated by the Warsaw Tourism Organisation:
- Associate Professor Dagmara Woźniakowska, University of Warsaw
- Associate Professor Iwona Sylwia Stachlewska, University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, Institute of Geophysics
- Associate Professor Joanna Wyleżałek, Warsaw University of Life Sciences
- Dr Łukasz Dembiński, Medical University of Warsaw
- Associate Professor Adam Kubas, Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences
Congratulations to all this year’s laureates, and especially to those whose candidacies we were pleased to recommend.
The Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme has been operating since 1998 and is a joint initiative of the Polish Conference and Congress Association and the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organisation. Its idea is simple: to support individuals who can open doors to international communities and encourage them to organise events in Poland.
Among the 23 new Congress Ambassadors are representatives of the Medical University of Warsaw, the University of Warsaw, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the Mazowieckie Centre for Neuropsychiatry. The full list of this year’s laureates shows how diverse professional and academic communities can contribute to the development of the meetings industry.
We would like to thank the Polish Tourism Organisation for another opportunity to meet with the community we work with on a daily basis. And to all the new Polish Congress Ambassadors, congratulations on this distinction. We look forward to the future events that, thanks to your involvement, will come to Poland and, of course, to Warsaw.
