Warsaw Convention Bureau is supporting the preparations process for the construction of a congress centre in Warsaw. As the Honorary Member of the Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland conference which took place on June 16th at the Westin Hotel, Warsaw Convention Bureau invited Michał Olszewski, the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, to meet MICE industry representatives. Olszewski presented current status of the works of the recently established ministry and Warsaw City Hall task team responsible for the National Stadium surroundings. The goal of the group is, among others, to create the concept of congress centre located next to the Stadium. The participants of the discussion with the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw were, among others, representatives of hotel chains, developers, architects, investment funds, banks, law firms and advisory firms representaties.
During the discussion Mateusz Czerwiński, Warsaw Convention Bureau Director, announced the consultation process on Warsaw congress centre with representatives of local hospitality sector and MICE industry. The process wasl be launched at the end of June 2015, the parties invited to share their opinions are Warsaw hotels (1*-5*, conference hotels included), MICE venues (fair, conference and event venues) without accommodation capabilities, selected cultural institutions, MICE agencies (event agencies, PCO, DMC), tour operators, selected meetings industry products and services providers, industry institutions, associations and media. The results and conclusions of hereby consultation will be presented to due governmental and local authorities, the decision-makers on Warsaw congress centre, but also to all respondents; they will also be published in selected industry media.
