IMEX Challenge Poland - for the first time in Warsaw

Warsaw Convention Bureau participates in the innovative project „2010 IMEX Challenge Poland – and chance it change their life”. Being part of New Vision Projects, it is the IMEX new initiative. Thanks to the cooperation between Convention Bureau of Poland – Polish Tourism Organization (PTO) and Meetings Designers company, which prepared the presentation about Warsaw as a destination for the first edition of the programme, the IMEX Challenge take place in Poland.

The project was created especially for the professionals associated with the meetings industry in order to enable them to support the local community through the direct involvement of volunteers. Thanks to that people associated with the meetings industry, instead of collecting money and financing changes, will be implementing them. Apart from Warsaw Convention Bureau, the local partners of the project, include Radisson Blu Hotel Crakov and the „Nasz Dom” Society („Our Home” Society).

Convention Bureau of Poland - Polish Tourism Organization decided to cooperate with the „Nasz Dom” Society, which identified the Substitute Family Home in Wesoła with 13 kids including those of the social parents (7) . The meeting with the family enabled to identify the needs and tasks which will be carried out by the group of participants of the project. The most important involve:
• Organising and equipping the children's playground
• Revitalizing the garden and the areas around the house
• Organising a trip for the inhabitants of the Substitute Family Home

Representatives of the global meetings industry (10 persons) will visit Warsaw from 12-16.09.2010. Together with the representatives of local sponsors they are going to take part in a campaign assaiming at implementing the policy of corporate social responsibility. It is a manifestation of positive interaction between the polish companies pursuing the CSR politics and the local community.

  Thanks to the cooperation with the IMEX communication department and other medias representing the world's business tourism, the project will contribute to enhance the image of the local meetings industry and hence – the image of Warsaw, as a city which more and more willingly propagates the CSR politics and matches in these actions with other destinations in the world.
