Shortly after receiving great news about European Congress of Psychiatry (EPA) taking place in Warsaw in 2019, another big scientific event has been confirmed in the capital of Poland in 2020. Thanks to the efforts of EXPO XXI Warszawa supported by Warsaw Convention Bureau, over 3000 delegates will come to Warsaw for the 28th annual Congress of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is an association of associations. Its membership is made up of veterinary organisations from all over the world, which are concerned with companion animals. Currently there are 101 veterinary associations globally, representing over 158,000 individual veterinarians from around the globe. The WSAVA World Congress is an internationally recognized veterinary congress with a scientific program of the highest standard produced in alternating regions reflecting the local culture and veterinary diversity. The congress is held for three to four days and it’s attended by more than 3000 practicing veterinarians. The WSAVA Congress has never been organised in this part of Europe. It has rotated through three regions: Asia and Oceania, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas. In 2017 it will take place in Bella Centre in Copenhagen, in 2018 in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore and in 2019 in Metro Toronto Convention Center, Canada. The WSAVA World Congress is organised exclusively by the Core PCO – Kenes Group.
From the very beginning Warsaw Convention Bureau supported the efforts of EXPO XXI Warszawa to organise WSAVA World Congress in the capital of Poland. Therefore, Warsaw CvB secured complimentary public transport tickets for the event participants and co-financed the site inspection in which we took an active part. It was also crucial to engage representatives of the local scientific community, as well as local partners and authorities.
